Black vs Colour - Rose

I hope all you Aussies out there had a great long weekend and enjoyed celebrating our beautiful Country.

While scrolling back through our previous posts I realised that this is probably the most colourful post you have seen by me. Really it only contains two colours but at least the floral background makes it a bit more bright and cheerful.

When selecting outfits I have always gravitated towards darker colours. It's mostly because when I am buying items I want them to be as versatile as possible and what could be more versatile than black?

Don't get me wrong, black is a great staple to have in the wardrobe but it really does change your mood when you add some colour to you day. Even if it's only a small amount in the form of this suede dress.

Hopefully over the year my outfits will become a bit more adventurous as I try to add more colour. As for now I will let you admire my black kimono and hat which are absolutely a nesescary part of my wardrobe even though they lack any colour.

♡ Please excuse the lighting in some of these photos. It was so bright outside and my pale skin didn't help

ENJO Fun - Stella

One of our good friends has recently become an ENJO consultant. A few weeks ago she invited all the girls around to have an ENJO party. It was so much fun to get together with all the girls and see how the ENJO products work.

The products that really took my interest were the body products. They have face and body gloves to remove make up and use in the shower. I was so excited to try these out. It's been over a week now and I am loving them! Especially the little round pads to remove eye make up. They work so well.

This was my outfit for that evening. I am obsessing over this Everybody Talks maxi skirt from Ginger Owl. I feel like I have worn it to death since I purchased it a few weeks ago.

Heat Wave - Rose

It's getting hotter and hotter by the day in Perth and living in a non air conditioned house is starting to get to me. Don't get me
wrong, I love summer but there's only so much sitting in my sauna of a room that I can handle. I've been trying to escape the house at every chance I get so have been using the heat as an excuse to hit the shops and keep myself cool... and sane.

On a side note how cute is this crochet style vest! So far I have only styled it with these denim shorts and tank top but it's such a versitile piece to mix and match with different outfits. Extra bonus that it's nice and breezy for this 40 degree weather we have had lately too.

Sunshine & Study - Stella

This summer break from uni has been absolute bliss. I have never made the most of my holidays as much as I have during this one. I find myself spending long days out in the sunshine, catching up with friends, relaxing and just keeping myself busy with all sorts of different projects and hobbies.

I have however, just finished two weeks of summer school at uni. It was a good chance to get a bit ahead and knock off a unit in two weeks. It gave me a chance to really focus on that one unit and put a lot of work into it. It was quite hard to get myself back into the studying mindset, but I am so glad I did it. Now I can spend a few more weeks enjoying myself before I go back to uni full time at the end of February.

New Year, New Adventure - Rose

Even though the festive season is well and truly over and its back to work for me, I have still managed to fill my afternoons catching up with friends and family. BBQ's, birthdays, and casual drinks have all been on the agenda this week, it's no wonder that this month is flying by.I was shocked today to look down at my calender and see that we are already half way through January!

I refuse to let another year pass me by without my knowledge. Usually I am quite happy plodding along with no real goal in mind but this year I have decided I need to make a change. It hit me the other day that next year I will be 25! I know I still have a whole life ahead of me but it did freak me out just a little.

As Stella told me the other week, the year of the Horse is our year. This is the perfect time for me to get out there and make things happen. My main priority this year is to travel and experience new things outside my comfort zone. I haven't done much traveling at all and I am so envious of those who do it regularly. I really want to explore as much of the world as possible and seeing as though I'm young and have nothing tying me down, this year feels like the right time to begin my adventure

Maxed Out - Stella

Generally, I don't often wear maxi dresses or skirts. I see them on other people and love them, but I never really like them on myself. I guess I just hadn't found the right one yet. The Garbo dress by Tysa Designs is incredible. I love the cut of this dress and the lace detailing around the bottom is so beautiful. Paired with  my Fallen Broken Street Hat, Kivari Kimono and some amazing jewels, this was the perfect outfit for my girls afternoon earlier in the week.

Experimenting With Makeup - Rose

I spend a lot of time watching beauty blogs on YouTube and have always had a huge interest in makeup, my drawers are packed with endless amounts of products which I love testing out. After following so many blogs and creating different makeup looks on myself, I realised that I love it and that I wanted to learn more.

Recently I completed a makeup course mainly for fun and because I had a general interest in it. Like most people, I have always found it easy to do my own makeup because of years and years of practice but when it comes to working on others I find it really intimidating. The course has taught me so much about techniques to use on different shaped faces and skin types. It has really helped me gain so much more confidence to do a full face of makeup on someone else.

I did my sisters makeup the other day for a wedding she was going to, I was so excited to be able to put what I had learnt in to practice. This was the first time I had done a full face of makeup on someone other than during my assessment and I loved every minute of it!

My Cousin has asked me to do her wedding makeup later this year so lately I have been focusing on researching different looks that we could try. She isn't having a 'traditional' wedding so its going to be exciting to be able to do something a little bit more creative. If you have any suggestions please feel free to leave a comment below, it would be great to get some inspiration from you all.

I have no idea where makeup will take me in the future but for now I am just enjoying experimenting on family and friends and getting in touch with my artistic side.
